RODRIGO GRACIE
Rodrigo is a member of the Gracie family from Brazil. He is the son of Jiu-Jitsu Grandmaster Reylson Gracie and the grandson of Carlos Gracie, the founder of Gracie Jiu-Jitsu. Rodrigo began his Jiu-Jitsu training at just 4 years old, started teaching at the age of 12 and earned his black belt at 18 under his father’s guidance. After that, he moved to the United States to teach at his father’s academy in California. A few years later, he relocated to New York City to train and collaborate with his cousin Renzo Gracie.
Seeking new challenges and opportunities, Rodrigo then moved to Los Angeles, California, where he was warmly welcomed by his cousin Royce Gracie. Together, Rodrigo and Royce began training and spending quality time as a family. Currently, Gracie serves as the head instructor at the Rodrigo Gracie Martial Arts Academy located in Torrance, California.Rodrigo is a gold medalist in the ADCC, reconized as the largest and most esteemed tournament in the world. In 2000, Rodrigo participated in his first MMA fight in New York, winning in just 27 seconds.
