Rodrigo Gracie: A Legacy of Excellence
Rodrigo Gracie is a proud member of the legendary Gracie family of Brazil, one of the most influential families in the history of Brazilian jiu-jitsu (BJJ). He is the son of Jiu-jitsu Grandmaster Reylson Gracie and the grandson of Carlos Gracie, the founder of Gracie Jiu-Jitsu.
Rodrigo began training Brazilian Jiu-jitsu at the age of 4 and earned his black belt at 18 under the guidance of his father, demonstrating exceptional skill and dedication from a young age. Following his training in Brazil, Rodrigo moved to the United States to teach at his father’s academy in California, sharing authentic Gracie Jiu-jitsu instruction with students of all levels.
A few years later, determined to further represent the Gracie name, Rodrigo transitioned into mixed martial arts competition. He relocated to New York City to train under and assist his cousin, Renzo Gracie, at the renowned Renzo Gracie Academy. Recognizing Rodrigo’s exceptional talent and fighting spirit, Renzo personally helped prepare him to compete at the highest levels of MMA and Grappling.
